red sky at night, sailor's delight...

The sunsets have been pretty unreal here for the past few days.  This evening I drove out to Fort Moultrie to see if I could snag a few good shots.

As I was getting in the car the thought crossed my mind that walking out onto a dark beach, alone, with theft-worthy equipment probably wasn't the best idea I ever had.

Of course the only other person within screaming distance was a middle-aged man who appeared out of nowhere.  I was trying to cram my fully extended tripod into the car when he asked me if I had gotten any good shots.  We had a short conversation and he seemed nice enough, but a girl can't be too careful anymore.  It feels awful to be that afraid of another person.

These aren't the super-awesome shots I was hoping to get, but I think I made a smart decision to pack it up.  There is always tomorrow (as long as you don't get murdered by a stranger on the beach).  Just sayin'...
