more hours in the day.
If I can make it through Thursday and accomplish everything I need to accomplish I will be so stinkin' happy. I have a feeling my sleep schedule is going to suffer though. I need to figure out how to schedule myself some more free time. I miss my camera :( and i miss having time to edit pictures I've already taken.
Next week is spring break. I guess I will make time then.
I have no pictures to share. I am headed to New Orleans on Friday to visit a friend so hopefully I'll have a ton when I come back on Monday!
Have a great week, as I'm sure I won't have time to post ANYTHING...

Life
"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future."
- Christopher McCandless
A little inspiration for those of you who are hesitant to pursue your goals and dreams. You can do ANYTHING and be ANYTHING you want, you just have to do it. It may not be comfortable, and it may be scary and frustrating and difficult, but you can do it. We only live once.
I feel like we all need a little encouragement every once in a while. So there you go.

weekend
I spent the weekend at the coffee shop, as usual. I made this cute latte and took a picture of it.
All my pictures are of food and beverages lately. Sorry.

Oh Thursday...
So today started out on a shitty-britches note. I was really ugly to someone this morning who didn't deserve it. Immediate regret was experienced. It was a true foot-in-mouth, emotional-girl moment and I feel horrible about it. You know who you are, and if you even bother to read this anymore I want you to know that I'm sorry. Really. I was a jerk.
So, way to go me...awesome.
It was cold...AGAIN. I'm so sick of cold weather. I know I shouldn't complain because my poor parents are being bombarded, day after day, with snow and ice and much colder weather. BUT they don't have to walk a mile to class carrying an art portfolio thingy that acts as a sail when the bitter cold wind of Charleston hits it. It seems to rain every Tuesday and Thursday now, which are the days I have drawing class and am unable to zip my portfolio case due to the enormous size of my drawing board. I never dress appropriately either. I have very few "winter" clothes because, um...I live in Charleston South Carolina. We're supposed to have mild winters. I HATE being cold. It makes me grumpy. Can you tell?
But today was Thursday! Hooray! Thursday is quickly becoming my favorite day. I get out of class at 5:15 and I don't have class on Fridays so I don't have anything that absolutely needs to be done on Thursday nights. In honor of Thursday I stopped and got a pizza fro La Pizzaria and a bottle of wine from Whole Foods and went home and watched a movie. It was pure bliss.
I love La Pizzaria. Next to EVO, I'm convinced they have the best pizza in Charleston. They make everything from scratch, even their mozzarella cheese (which is to die for) and import their desserts from Italy. They are super authentic and their pizza is phenomenal. They are located on Houston Northcut in the first strip mall on the left. You should check them out.
While i was waiting for my pie I went to Whole Foods for a bottle of wine, because i wanted one...(I didn't drink the whole thing) I love Whole Foods. The people that work there are so nice and helpful. I got a cupcake too because I couldn't help myself. (Tonight was my diet cheat night...I'm officially off the carbs and sugar after this.)
I was in absolute, self-indulgent heaven when I sat down on the couch with my pizza, wine and movie. It was a good night. And I'm getting to bed at a decent hour. How awesome is that?! I really needed this.

BUSY
This is going to be a picture-less post. I hit the ground running on January 11th and haven't stopped since. My time management continues to improve so hopefully I'll get to brush the dust off the D90 soon. I miss my camera, I really do.
In case anyone was wondering what I've been up to for the past month, here's a brief recap.
Josh and I officially separated on December 30th. I moved into a townhouse in Mt Pleasant and have 2 roommates, Courtney and Kim. I started school at the College of Charleston and have actually been enjoying school for the first time, EVER. I have been drinking WAY too much coffee, and spending WAY too much money on coffee though, which has got to stop. It's hard not to do when there's a stinkin' Starbucks on every corner of campus. I still work at the preschool from 8:30-12:30 Monday - Friday. The kids are driving us all nuts but I love my time with them and my awesome coworkers. I also work at the coffee shop on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which I also enjoy way more than I should. I like the small-talk, listening to music, dancing around a being silly behind the counter and pulling espresso shots the old-fashioned-way. On Sunday's I also keep score for adult co-ed volleyball at the Isle of Palms Recreation Department. It's a little on the boring side but I don't have to use my brain and I get paid to study when teams don't show up to play.
So no, there isn't a single day when I don't have somewhere to be. It's tiring, but I know that in 3 months school will be out for summer, and in 4 months preschool will be out and I'll be back to doing summer camp at IOP Rec and I'll have plenty of free time to do whatever I want. I need to be busy right now. It's good stress.
Last week I bought a plane ticket to New Orleans. I'm going to visit a friend there for a weekend in March when the college closes for spring break. I've never been to New Orleans and am looking forward to a weekend of sightseeing, eating my face off and listening to New Orleans Jazz-Funk with good friends. (and of course, taking lots of pictures!)
My parents sent me a "care package" a few weeks ago with almonds and dried blueberries and cranberries. Yum. Mom loves Charleston Magazine so I decided to send her one, along with a package of cheesy-garlic grits from Simmon's Seafood and some espresso chocolate chip cookies I made. These were the best cookies EVER by the way. I will definitely be making them again. Dad called me this afternoon to tell me that he just ate the best cookie he'd ever eaten in his life. (Thanks pops :) I'm glad you loved them.) He is also very excited about his grits.
I got my hair cut...and colored on Friday. I said a while ago that I wasn't going to color my hair anymore because it was too expensive and too much of a pain in the ass to maintain. I lied. It looks soooo much better when it's highlighted. I don't know what I was thinking. (I will post a picture soon Denise...I promise.) It looks super hawt. (yes, hawt, not hot, hawt)
I also ordered a pair of skinny corduroys (my first pair!) and a wacky cardigan from my favorite bank-account-emptier, Free People. I love my skinny pants. I'm going to call them my sexy pants, because they are super-sexy. I also ordered a pair of skinny jeans from Anthropologie...my second favorite store to blow my paychecks. (For those of you who want to criticize my money-spending...don't...I haven't bought clothing in 6 months. I was due! AND everything I bought was on sale...so there.)
New life, new routine, new hair, new clothes...I think I'm getting the hang of this! I need to work on my time management a little more, but I think I'm doing pretty well so far. I also need to work on getting more sleep...It's midnight so I'm going to do that now. Goodnight.
